I have been so excited for March and Spring to get here. I have been longing for warmer weather, hearing the birds chirp, longer evenings of sunlight, and getting to see tulips, daffodils, and other flowers.
I have also been excited about our new garden I planted! In our last blog, I planted garden peas. Well, they started to sprout up in the last couple of days! Seeing the seeds pop through the soil just reminds me of God's goodness and His promise to us of new life.
Here are a few pictures of the planting process:
The seeds all lined up in my wooden box |
Pushing the seeds down 1.5 inches in the soil (FYI--it was snowing while I did this!!) |
Painted the box afterwards---planted the peas Feb. 23 |
Peas starting to sprout March 12 |
I also couldn't help thinking about this imagery from Isaiah 61:11, "For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations." What a promise!!
Looking forward to this new season and all it has in store....
